Clay Studio - Megamodular Wall

The modular clay screen wall at Woodbury University’s Solar House enhances the entry planter with both sculptural and functional qualities. Standing 8 feet tall, the wall consists of mega modules, each made from four smaller micro modules. These micro modules are extruded and hand-textured on all sides, creating dynamic surfaces that play with light and shadow.

Glazed in green, blue, and pink, the modules form a gradient that reflects natural transitions, complements the landscape, and embodies the house’s sustainable ethos. The blue glaze echoes the concrete’s tone, while the coral adds a vibrant accent. Bolted together with threaded rods for stability, the wall can be easily installed or disassembled, reflecting the project’s adaptive, ecofriendly design.
